The work began with Google Business Profiles. Following the guest journey showed that the larger opportunity was to connect social media, the website and the booking flow.

Improving visibility alone would not be enough. Guests also needed clear information, the right hotel page and a smooth path to booking. GB Digital Hub worked with The Altruist Hotels team to connect those steps and turn the direction into action.
The work connected the steps a guest takes, from finding The Altruist online to completing a booking.

THE REAL CHALLENGE
Guests were finding the hotels. The journey after discovery was where bookings were being lost
GB first approached the founder with a practical review of what guests were seeing online. The initial brief was limited to improving the Google Business Profiles. Once the hotel names, information and links were reviewed, we followed the guest journey beyond Google. That is where the larger business problem became clear.

Where the journey was breaking
Guests could find The Altruist, but the next step was not always clear. Hotel names, property information, social profiles and links were not fully aligned. The website did not do enough to help a guest choose a hotel or encourage a direct booking. Moving into Zify also felt like leaving the Altruist experience and entering a separate partner website.
The issue was not one weak channel. Growth was being lost in the gaps between channels. The brief therefore expanded from GBP optimisation to one connected growth journey.
THE INTERVENTION
One guest journey, from Google and social media to the booking page
Each channel had a simple role: help the right guest find the brand, understand the hotels, choose a property and complete a booking. The website, social media and booking flow were therefore reviewed as one journey rather than separate pieces of work

Social media helped guests understand the brand before they booked
GB helped simplify the planning and review process across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. The content direction, profile names, links and website destinations were checked against the same business goal. Social media helped people understand the brand and its hotels before moving them to the most relevant website or booking page.

Hotel pages, page content and booking actions were reorganised around what a guest needs to know next. The booking integration created a smoother handover to Zify. Analytics and booking records gave the team a better view of where guests moved forward and where they dropped away.
Using consistent hotel names, locations, links and property information also makes it easier for Google and AI tools to understand the brand.
THE MOVEMENT
More room nights, bookings and revenue, supported by a clearer digital journey
Between January and June 2026, booked room nights increased by 118% and booking revenue increased by 107%. Confirmed bookings increased by 94%. These results came from the complete programme and the Altruist team’s willingness to act. They should not be credited to one channel alone.

What changed beyond the numbers
The value is not limited to improved listings, social media or a redesigned website. The team now has one goal, a clearer working process, shared numbers and defined ownership. This makes it easier to see where growth is being lost and decide what to improve next, even when people or responsibilities change.

A result built together
GB Digital Hub brought the outside view, connected the customer journey and helped the team read the performance. The Altruist Hotels team opened the wider brief, coordinated internal teams and partners, and moved the work into implementation. The results reflect that shared contribution.
